About the Collective

Our Mission
To promote health by supporting work to improve systems of care.
Our Work
We support health systems-related design & evaluation, dissemination, and proposals occurring in or via collaboration with the UW Department of Medicine. Learn more about our approach and how we provide support.
We also connect individuals with communities in and beyond the Department that are trying to improve health through better systems of care.
One way is by curating a faculty directory containing individuals with health systems interests or work. Another is through features highlighting Centers and Institutes whose work encompasses systems topics.
Additionally, we convene series of discussions highlighting experiences and lessons from people and groups working on improving systems of care.
The Collective complements several Health Systems Programs housed within the Department of Medicine.
People
UW is a big place. We have strived to make it a bit smaller by creating a directory to feature and connect people within the UW Department of Medicine and beyond who have interests and expertise in health systems topics.
The goal is to help Department members find others with aligned interests, or who can potentially serve as mentors, collaborators, or colleagues. The directory can also be used by other individuals identify experts within the Department (e.g., for interviews, service on an advisory group, grand rounds presentation).

Not quite sure what you're looking for? We can help with that too. Please direct general inquiries about people working in health systems-related areas to hscollective[at]uw[dot]edu.
Groups
A number of groups at UW, within and beyond the Department of Medicine, work on health systems-related research and delivery system innovations.
These groups are engines of systems change, and we seek to feature their experience and work.
